Here hang lanterns of white, and pink, and blue. Each glowing from within, a pleasant flickering hue. Upon each, a riddle, our answers a riddler's due: one must solve a riddle themself or become a Riddler true.

Lantern History


Guessing Lantern Riddles is a Far Eastern tradition abundant during festivals throughout the year. Riddles are full of wisdom that challenge the mind and nourish the spirit. Whether you are a curious traveller, a laborer, or social elite, all enjoy the mystery of fate and fortune offered by these riddles can provide. Are you willing to give it a try?

Guessing Riddles


Take a look at the lanterns hanging around the stall. Once you've found the lantern you'd like to try solving, inform the riddle coordinator (Shizue Onna) with the riddle you chose, along with your answer. By solving riddles you can win an RP lantern to carry around and other prizes!

A Doman native with a matronly voice, Shizue Onna attentively tends the lantern stall with a loving gaze. Her scarlet hair drapes long down a silken dress of green. A koi hairpin secures a bun behind her horn.Whether in a group or alone, Shizue's gaze somehow locks with you and her grin is wide and filled with triangular, pearlescent teeth. The closer you come the louder the scent of fish hits your nose.

Antiquated Coin

  • A bronze coin from a Yanxian kingdom lost to history. Should the claims be true, these coins could be priceless... Each coin is imbued with a unique preternatural effect but are otherwise useless.

Festive Sensu

  • A bamboo handfan with plain white paper. Shizue will paint a riddle of your choice onto a fan for you to keep as a fortune for the new year.

  • Also a consolation prize for those unable to solve their riddle.


Paper-folding Kit

  • A square bundle neatly wrapped in bamboo leaves and tied with string.

  • There is a small hand-scribed booklet with the title "Origami Patterns".

  • Contained within is a stack of colorful paper made for the wonderful art of origami!


Qingyang Sachet

  • A silken pouch sewn in the shape of a clamshell with embroidered waves of violet and silver. A gold tassel hangs from it.

  • The perfume sachet is filled with cotton, spices, cinnabar and wyrmwood. It will repel some insects.

  • Hidden in the cotton; the pearlescent sheen of a single flat shark tooth.
